Kobza Ihor Ivanovych

Biography
  • Ihor Ivanovych Kobza is a professor and the Head of the Department of Hospital Surgery / Surgery No. 2 (since 2000).
  • He graduated from the Medical Faculty of the Lviv Medical Institute in 1979.
  • Career experience: surgeon (1979–1986), Head of the Vascular Surgery Department of the Lviv Regional Clinical Hospital (since 1986); part-time lecturer (1991–1992, 1998–2000); and, since 2000, Head of the Department of Hospital Surgery / Surgery No. 2 at the Lviv Medical University.
  • He earned his Candidate of Medical Sciences degree in 1986, Doctor of Medical Sciences degree in 1998, was awarded the title of Associate Professor in 2003, and Professor in 2004.
Scientific research interests:
  • diagnostic criteria and surgical approaches in vascular operations, particularly those aimed at revascularization of critically ischemic limbs in patients with multifocal arterial lesions;
  • surgery for critical lower limb ischemia and prevention of post-revascularization complications;
  • diagnosis and surgical treatment of chronic cerebral ischemia;
  • repeat reconstructive surgeries on major blood vessels;
  • aortic aneurysm surgery; radical surgery for renal cancer with intravenous metastasis;
  • surgical treatment of vascular prosthesis infections.
  • He is the author of approximately 210 scientific and educational-methodical publications, including a monograph, an inventor’s certificate, and 9 Ukrainian patents.
  • Has supervised 2 PhD candidates.
