Vacuum breast biopsy

First in Ukraine: Vacuum-Assisted Breast Biopsy with the Bexcore System

Our clinic offers an innovative procedure — vacuum-assisted breast biopsy using the Bexcore system. It is a modern and safe alternative to conventional surgery, allowing the removal of benign breast tumors without incisions and without general anesthesia.

How the Bexcore System Works

Bexcore is an innovative system for vacuum-assisted (minimally invasive) breast biopsy. During the procedure, a biopsy needle is inserted into the breast. A vacuum mechanism gently draws breast tissue into the needle, and an automated cutting mechanism removes the tissue sample. Thanks to this approach, there is no need for a large incision as in traditional surgery.

Benefits of Bexcore for the patient

Features of vacuum-assisted biopsy:

  • Minimal trauma — the system’s needle enters breast tissue smoothly with minimal damage.
  • Ultrasound guidance — the doctor can see exactly where the needle is placed.
  • Comfortable procedure — the lesion is removed under local anesthesia.
  • Minimal mark — no incision, only a small puncture that is almost invisible.
  • Accurate diagnosis — we can collect enough tissue to determine the nature of the lesion. Multiple samples can be taken through a single puncture without reinserting the needle.
  • Single-use sterile instruments — maximum safety.

When is vacuum-assisted biopsy recommended?

Vacuum-assisted breast biopsy is indicated:

  • If ultrasound or mammography detects suspicious breast lesions.
  • For histological confirmation — to determine whether the lesion is benign or requires specific treatment.
  • To remove a benign lesion without conventional surgery — with minimal trauma to breast tissue.

Procedure steps:

  1. Preparation and local anesthesia. The skin is disinfected, and the entry site is numbed.
  2. Ultrasound guidance. The doctor precisely visualizes the lesion and the needle position.
  3. Needle insertion. A thin needle is inserted through a small puncture (4–5 mm) into the target area.
  4. Tissue sampling under ultrasound control.
  5. Completion. A patch or dressing is applied to the puncture site.
  6. Aftercare. You receive care instructions for the treated area. The collected material is sent for analysis, and we inform you of the results.

The procedure takes up to 30 minutes. The patient goes home the same day.
